Dr. Bhagwan Koirala is a Cardiothoracic Surgeon, Professor, and Social worker who is the key person to have started Open Heart Surgery in Nepal in on1997. He led the newly established Shahid Gangalal National Heart Center as the Executive Director from 2001 to 2009. He later became the Executive Director of Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital where he cleaned up many irregularities and rescued the hospital from the brink of financial collapse. Dr. Bhagwan Koirala had performed or directly supervised over 13,000 heart surgeries between 2001 and 2020. Apart from leading the technical and clinical teams, he has facilitated the free treatment of heart diseases for poor patients, children, senior citizens, and those in desperate need.

Having been visited all around Nepal in search of stone writings and manuscripts, Prof. Khanal has acquired quite a large value of knowledge regarding our history. His study and expertise in Archeology have also helped him excavate and document ancient proof of Nepal being one of the oldest civilizations in the world. For reference American history dates back to 300-400 years but we have documentation back from 3000 years ago. This podcast was truly an eye-opener for me and was very emotional on deeper levels.
